Designed to work with the Sphero 2.0, SPRK, SPRK+, Sphero Mini and the Sphero Edu platform, the Sphero Golf Mat is a wonderful resource for use in the classroom that will develop key coding skills, linking to everyday curriculum outcomes.
Simply open up the Sphero Edu app, connect your Sphero to your device, roll out the mat and students from ages 8 up to 16+ will be ready to go and create their own algorithms, problem solve and debug using the Draw, Block or Text projects, while Sphero navigates through each hole. There are 6 reversible holes, in effect allowing students to complete 12 complex mazes.
Measuring 1220mm x 2010mm, the Sphero Golf Mat is a robust vinyl floor mat. Its wipe clean, tough wearing surface is designed for classroom use.
Sphero Golf Mat is best used with a group of students and at least two Spheros.
Golf Tournament
There are 6 reversible holes, in effect allowing students to complete 12 complex mazes on the mat. 4 groups of 2 students can work on the mat at any one time, each with a Sphero. Students should place the Sphero at the 1st hole and program it to move to the end of that hole. Continue onto the 2nd hole. Students can extend the challenges by reversing the holes and programming the Sphero to go back to the beginning of the course. Students should use Blocks or Text projects in the Sphero Edu app.
You could also create a par score for each hole. This could be a time based score or limit how many blocks in their program to reach par. Fewer blocks can score Birdies and Eagles. Additional blocks can score Bogeys etc.
While completing each hole take images and videos as evidence that you have completed it. It's always good to share your successes!
